Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Scdown ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use scdown.com, and how that information is used, stored, and protected. We built Scdown to work with as little personal data as possible: free downloads require no account at all.

Depending on how you use Scdown, we may collect the following:

• —SoundCloud links you paste — used only to process your request and are not stored after the download completes.
• —Email address — collected only if you become a Supporter, used to verify your Ko-fi payment and activate your access.
• —Payment information — handled entirely by Ko-fi. Scdown never sees or stores your card details.
• —Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) used for security and abuse prevention.
• —Analytics — anonymized usage statistics via Google Analytics, to understand overall traffic and improve the site.

We use the information above strictly to operate the service: converting and delivering the audio or image file you requested, verifying and activating Supporter access, keeping the site secure, and understanding aggregate usage so we can improve performance and reliability. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your email for marketing.

Scdown uses a single functional cookie, sc_vip_session, to keep Supporters signed in after verifying their email. This cookie is httpOnly and cannot be read by third-party scripts. We also use standard analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to measure site traffic.

Scdown relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:

• —SoundCloud — the source of the audio and artwork you request. Scdown is not affiliated with or endorsed by SoundCloud.
• —Ko-fi — processes Supporter payments under its own privacy policy and terms.
• —Supabase — securely stores Supporter account records (email, subscription status).
• —Google Analytics — provides anonymized traffic analytics.

Submitted SoundCloud URLs and the files generated from them are not retained on our servers once your download completes. Supporter account records are kept for as long as your account remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward for billing records, and are protected using industry-standard access controls.

If you are a Supporter and want to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Scdown is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
